Ohio River Boating Accident Kills Three

|

Tragically three people have died, and three more are still missing following a Sunday boating accident in Louisville, Kentucky. Furthermore, the boat crash happened on the Ohio River when the vessel struck the Clark Memorial Bridge during an Independence Day fireworks display. Four of the boaters were rescued, and four more are missing.

Sadly, one body of a boater was found on the Indiana side of the River, and three more fatalities are known as well; two adults, and one child. Due to strong currents, dive teams are unable to check the water for the remaining survivors. Police and fire officials are not optimistic that the missing boaters will be able to survive in the treacherous conditions. The remainder of the 20-foot, capsized pontoon boat was found near bridge construction.
