Driver Facing Manslaughter Charges After Fatal Crash

|

A driver is facing manslaughter charges after causing a fatal auto accident this year. The accident happened in June when the crash resulted in two fatalities. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, 32-year-old Timothy E.L. Calvin was traveling northbound on U.S. 71 when he failed to stop at a stop sign causing a collision with another vehicle traveling eastbound on Commercial Drive in Jane, Missouri. Three occupants were in that vehicle, 20-year-old Billy W. Hampshire, 21-year-old Austin J. Buttry, and 20-year-old Dillon M. Russell. Tragically, Hampshire and Buttry were killed in the crash, and Russell sustained moderate injuries. Calvin has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and vehicular assault, and a judge is determining whether to move forward with the charges.
