Drills Recalled For Fire Hazard

|

A recall has been issued for 1.7 million cordless drills due to the possibility of them overheating and catching fire. A discount tool and equipment retailer, Harbor Freight Tools, is recalling their 18-Volt Drill Master due to it becoming stuck in the on position causing it to overheat. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has received 25 consumer reports from individuals suffering burns due to the overheating of the drill. Harbor Freight is a nationwide retailer and is urging owners of the drills to return them to the store for a free replacement.

Companies that manufacture and produce consumer goods must follow strict guidelines to ensure their products are safe and will not harm any individual. Unfortunately, millions of items are recalled every year due to the item being unsafe or defective. Thousands of people seek treatment in medical facilities each year after becoming injured or ill from an unsafe product. Food, toys, electronics, vehicles and pet products are all examples of items that can harm consumers. If you have been the victim of a negligent manufacturer, it is crucial to consult an experienced product liability attorney.
