Zofran lawsuits adding up due to unsafe use during pregnancy

|

Zofran is an anti-nausea drug used to treat patients receiving chemotherapy, radiation, or those who have recently had surgery. In addition, Zofran is made by GlaxoSmithKline, and has not been approved by the FDA for use in pregnant women. Currently, the drug is placed in category B for safeness during pregnancy. Yet, sadly GSK have been marketing Zofran as safe for the use during pregnancy to help combat morning sickness.

Even more unsettling, GSK have been receiving complaints from consumers since 1992 regarding birth defects in babies due to Zofran, and the manufacturer has still taken no action. Likewise, during research testing it was found unsafe for use during pregnancy because when Zofran was tested on animals, it reached beyond the placental barrier. Now, women who have had babies with cleft palate, cleft lip, and heart defects after taking Zofran are seeking answers.

The skilled attorneys at Meyerkord & Kurth are currently representing families that have suffered as a result of Zofran. If Zofran or any other drug has injured you or a loved one, we can help.
