Two fatal crashes happen around St. Louis

Wednesday afternoon in Lincoln County, Missouri, a man was killed following a head-on crash. 44-year-old Richard Gannon was driving his vehicle on Route E when he attempted to pass another car, and struck another head-on. The accident happened just west of Highway 61, and Gannon died at the hospital following the accident. 46-year-old, Jewel Glover was driving the vehicle in oncoming traffic, and she suffered non-life-threatening injuries. In nearby Alton, the driver of an SUV was killed after a crash involving a semi. In addition, the crash happened near Highway 67 on College Avenue. An unidentified female driver was headed west on College when a semi traveling north hit the side of her vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not reported whether or not the driver of the semi suffered any injured in the crash. The scene was closed for many hours due to a reconstruction of the accident. Thus far, it is not known why the semi driver hit the side of the SUV. An investigation is pending. To learn more about this story, please click here.
