Several accidents reported throughout St. Louis on Sunday

It was a tragic and busy day in St. Louis on Sunday following several accident. Sunday afternoon on U.S. 54 in Cole County, Missouri, an elderly man was killed in a motor vehicle accident. Furthermore, 80-year-old Alexander Klimenko was struck after he stopped his car on the passing side of the road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Klimenko stopped his Mercedes on the side of the passing lane for unknown reasons, and his vehicle was hit from behind. Klimenko was killed on the scene, and his 84-year-old passenger is hospitalized with serious injuries. 54-year-old, Mark Miner, struck the rear of Klimenko's car, and he is now in serious condition at a nearby hospital. In an unrelated pedestrian accident, a man in St. Peters, MO was killed while he attempted to cross Interstate 70 Sunday night. 32-year-old, pedestrian Halbert Sullivan was killed when a vehicle struck him near Mid Rivers Mall Drive. Sadly, Sullivan was killed upon impact. The identity of the driver has not been released, and it is not known if any charges will be filed in the incident. To learn more, please click here.

Finally, Sunday afternoon on Interstate 55 near Loughborough four people were injured in a vehicle crash. In the accident, the children suffered minor injuries, and the woman driver is currently in critical condition after being thrown from the vehicle. Thus far, it is unknown how the accident occurred.
