A St. Charles woman, 80, was treated for smoke inhalation caused by a fire in her Lake St. Charles Retirement Community apartment. The fire was started around 7:30 in the morning when she tried to boil some tea. The woman accidentally turned on the wrong burner and ignited some materials. The woman tried to extinguish the fire unsuccessfully before calling the fire department. Two apartments were damaged in the fire that ensued. The woman was taken to St. Joseph's Health Center for treatment.
