Facebook Photographs Lead to Child Abuse Arrests

A couple was arrested on child abuse charges after one of them posted pictures on her Facebook account. A concerned viewer of the female's Facebook account saw pictures of children bound with duct tape and alerted authorities. The children in the pictures were the couple's children whose ages are 2 years old and 10 months old respectively. Each child was bound with duct tape around their hands and feet as well as over their mouths. One picture had shown a child hanging upside on an exercise machine. The couple claims the pictures were a joke, and they had no intention of harming the children. However, investigators claim it is unlikely these pictures were meant to be a joke because of the look on the children's faces. The parents are currently being held in jail while the children are with a family member. This case is very similar to a Chicago man who was arrested on similar charges for posting pictures of his infant child bound with duct tape and marks a trend in Social Media being used as a tool of crime prevention and reporting.
