A Woodriver, Illinois Man Dies in Crash

On Friday night's icy roads around 6:30 p.m. a seventy-nine year old Woodriver man died in a crash when his Ford Fusion slid across the centerline colliding with an oncoming van. The Madison County Coroner pronounced the man, Neil Hopkins, dead at the scene. The vehicle Mr. Hopkins collided with was driven by Michael Timmons of Godfrey, Illinois. Mr. Timmons along with his passenger were taken to a nearby hospital. Their medical conditions have not been released.
