At 7:00pm Tuesday night, a tractor-trailer hit a Madison County transit bus at a traffic light which then hit the back of a pickup truck at the intersection of Route 3 and West Chain of Rocks Road. Witnesses said the tractor-trailer did not stop at the traffic light causing this chain reaction. All three drivers of the vehicles were taken to nearby hospitals along with five of the passengers on the bus. The driver of the tractor-trailer was the most seriously injured and was taken by helicopter, his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The injuries of the others seem to be minor to moderate.
