"Meyerkord and Meyerkord, LLC: A Legacy of Legal Innovation"
The federal government took down a database on September 1, 2011 that tracked the malpractice awards and disciplinary actions recently. It allowed public access to limited data and the database itself was confidential. Journalists from the Association of Health Care Journalists, Investigative Reporters and Editors and the Society of Professional Journalists were outraged by the denial of access. They wrote to public officials, including Katherine Sebelius, the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services explaining their position. Journalists saw the database as a way for those in charge of health regulation and credentialing in each state to protect their constituents by having a better tool to track problematic doctors nationally.
Unfortunately, it is a reality that doctors with poor malpractice track records can travel from state to state and practice without fear of discovery due to the lack of coordination among the states. The skilled medical malpractice attorneys at Meyerkord and Meyerkord, LLC are here to help you if you believe you are the victim of medical malpractice. Our medical malpractice attorneys continue to set the standard for representation of difficult medical malpractice cases.
