"Meyerkord and Meyerkord, LLC: A Legacy of Legal Innovation"
The journal, Science, published an article recently revealing that a tiny patch no thicker than the diameter of a human hair may be the next technology to monitor a patient's vital signs. The technology is being designed to be more like biological tissue and less like bulky electronics. According to John A. Rogers of the University of Illinois, other potential uses for the technology could include: "monitoring brain waves, muscle movement, sensing the larynx for speech, emitting heat to help heal wounds and perhaps even being made touch sensitive and placed on artificial limbs".
This new technology is a potential breakthrough in patient care and comfort. However, as with all new drug and device technology it is important to protect the safety of patients.
